Amazon KDP Royalties Will Drop On June 20th - Amazon Printing Cost Increase Warning - What To Do?

Amazon are increasing their printing costs on June 20th 2023. This is going to affect your royalties and in most cases, (or in all cases where black and white printing is concerned) your royalties are going to go down. Some more than others. How much it will drop, is going to depend on the trim size of your book and the page count. Books that are 6 x 9 inches and 108 pages or less, are going to be impacted far less than larger sized books.

This is a great shame, because in the past, Amazon charged the same for larger sized books. That said, the fact they did this did always baffle me. So, it’s no surprise to me that they are changing this now. However, you are able to lessen the blow of this change by potentially raising your prices.
