Once upon a time, Disney was a company that made everyone's favorite childhood animated movies. They would dip their toes into live action with celebrated classics like High School Musical, Camp Rock, and Halloweentown, but these were all, mostly, made for TV movies, Disney had a lane with the Mouse and his friends, and a bunch of classics that now come with warnings when you watch them on Disney plus. But they also had this other, very out of pocket for the time, franchise with Pirates of the Caribbean.
