'Inside' La Civetta

A recce trip for an ascent of Cima della Busazza which forms part of La Civetta in the Italian Dolomites. The approach is from the huge glacial bowl in the centre of the massif, a wild and remote area.
We started at Capanna Trieste and after five hours and 1500m of ascent we reached the base of the couloir which gives access to the main ridge and summit. Cloud base had been below the summit all morning and was getting lower so we decided to descend and leave the summit for another day.
