YDI is a non-profit organization based in Charlotte, NC, that provides evidence-based after school programming to disadvantaged youth. The organization aims to give hope to the kids by providing them with the guidance and life skill training necessary to finish high school and prepare for college, military, or a job. One of the most innovative programs that YDI offers is the Life Management Guidance (LMG) curriculum. This program is a technology-driven and project-based educational tool that uses skills assessments to engage students in everyday living scenarios that connect the classroom to the real world. The LMG's format also engages students in active learning, making it an effective tool for all students, regardless of their learning style. Apart from the LMG curriculum, YDI also offers powerful training modules for parenting, family skill-building, mentoring, and so more! With their evidence-based programming and innovative tools, YDI is making a significant impact on the lives of adolescent youth in Charlotte, NC.
