My Hair Transplant Journey

I'm Melvin an editorial assistant and co-moderator for the hair transplant network. This is my hair transplant journey.there might be a lot of guys out there in my situation, I was a diffuse Norwood 6 thinner with retrograde alopecia, before deciding to do a hair transplant I often searched hair loss forums, members would constantly dissuade individuals from receiving hair restoration because of extensive hairloss. At 29 years old I decided to do it, I had my first procedure with Dr. Behnam in Santa Monica I had 1,800 grafts put in my midscalp in a diffuse pattern. I got decent results well in my opinion. I then decided to have 2,120 grafts implanted to my hairline by Dr. Diep in Los Gatos, in 2015.

When deciding to have hair restoration you need to first stabilize hair loss, I've been on minoxidil and ketocanozole shampoo for 5 years. No hair regrowth but my hair loss hasn't gotten worse. I tried Finasteride but couldn't handle the sides, but I encourage everyone to at least try it. Secondly, what is your goal realistically, it should be always be natural address the hairline, midscalp and lateral humps first and foremost, the crown must be something you're willing to leave thin or completely bald. All things considered doing proper research is CRUCIAL! You can spend all the money in the world by going to the most expensive surgeons in the world, but if they don't have a track record of producing excellent results than it is for nothing. Focus on surgeons that are patient focused and not numbers driven. Patient focused surgeons do not have chain hair transplant clinics that are more like hair transplant mills. They have their own private practice that focuses on patients and have their reputation built on results and not paid advertising and marketing.
