Thoughts and concerns with the people of Jasper today. 30-50% of the structures in the town have been destroyed by the fire. This is just one of many wildfires raging across Canada. While forest fires are natural phenomenon, anthropogenic climate change contributes to greater intensity and frequency. Canada's vast forests should serve as a global carbon sink but instead, for the last few decades, forest fires as well as human emissions have made Canada a net carbon emitter. We must demand climate action now.
