the products I chose to test in this video were chosen based on my specific needs and interests

After playing the same tube amps for the last 2 decades i decided to try some new guitar amps including modelers. I briefly tried the kemper last year in a friends studio. It was not quite what I was looking for. I decided to try the Axe Fx III for two reasons: I could use it as a nice digital outboard FX processor for sound design and so many esteemed guitarists have used it. Well, after two weeks of painstakingly fiddling with sounds (and trust me I'm really good at fiddling) I discovered that I didn't fully love the sounds I was getting. I then discovered York Audio Impulse Responses. I installed them in the Axe and I instantly liked the Axe more than ever. However, I still really just wanted a new tube amp so I got the Revv G20 and the Victory Super Kraken, which, as it turns out, really is Super! I also tried the whole slew of Neural DSP Archetype plugins and decided to only keep the Nolly plugin, mainly as an IR loader)

I was also looking to find the best and most reproducible way to record these tube amps in my little mixing/mastering room where using mics isn't ideal and so I tested out load boxes/DIs and more.

I did test out the TS 808 too and I liked it but since I was activating it by hand, the square button was problematic and so I started looking for a transparent/clean blend TS pedal which I prefer!
