Join me as we discuss, reminisce, analyze...and yeah, flat out play apologist for Sega's 2003 big seller, Sonic Heroes. As the last title of the so called Adventure era, this was Ryan Drummond and David Humphrey's last outing a Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehog. And as Sega set sail in the uncharted waters of 3rd party development after the death of the Dream Cast, the voice actors were not the only thing that was set to change. 12 Playable characters, 4 stories, team based game play? Whether you play as Team Sonic, Team Dark, Team Rose or Team Chaotix? Sonic Heroes was, and, still is a very strange game. One I've struggled with my opinions on ever since its release. But, as time has gone by, and the state of the franchise has waxed and waned across the meta era. And we got games like Sonic Forces. I decided to go back and reflect on this game again.
