Focus Cup Round 5 Race 1 Croft Circuit 2024

Back out again in the Focus Cup this time at Croft, a circuit we had never been to before so we were looking forward to the experience of learning a new track.

Friday testing didn’t go as planned as we had engine issues in the morning meaning we only had 2 laps in the car. For the afternoon we were looking a little more promising but again we had issues, this time the engine was knocking severely meaning we didn’t even get any laps in at all. However we did get the experience of testing out the 2025 Focus Petrol class car which was a lot of fun and handled like a go kart, hopefully have more of that to come next year!

Qualifying came and we were put into one of the spare cars, as we had no testing time on the track it was all about learning and getting quicker with each lap. When the session came to an end we managed to put the car third with a gap of .2 between the top 3 cars.

Race 1 we had a great start off the line putting us into P2 by the first corner, it was a very challenging race trying to catch the lead but unfortunately we ran into car problems again, this time we had difficulty in stopping the car meaning we were locking up and losing a lot of time to the leader. We managed to hold position and finish P2.
