STORYLINE:
Protesters marched through Paris on Saturday in support of Palestine and denouncing U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's presence at the Notre Dame cathedral reopening.

Organized by left-wing parties, unions, and pro-Palestinian groups, the demonstration featured Palestinian flags, keffiyehs, and chants backing Palestinian resistance.

They called for French President Emmanuel Macron's impeachment, and criticised Trump's alleged complicity in Middle East conflicts.

"What's special (today) is the arrival of Donald Trump, who has been complicit in the genocide, much like the United States has been since the beginning of the creation of this rogue state that is occupying Palestine illegally,” Nadia Messai said at the demonstration.

Speaking about Western nations’ relations with Israel, another protester, Elisee Poli said "we are here to support Palestine and in general against the support of our governments for the genocidal regimes of Netanyahu in Israel.”

Trump and world leaders are in Paris for the reopening ceremony of Notre Dame following its restoration from a fire.
