“Most of the footage is from when Julian and I first reconnected, and I got involved with Rivvia Projects. Originally, the goal was to put together a welcome-to-the-team clip, but it ended up dragging out due to a few different reasons.

I’ve been super focused on my final university exams, and hopefully, I’ll be graduating in two weeks. Then, about four months ago, I tore my MCL doing a backside air at home, landing in the trough. I thought it was ok, but I made it worse by going on a Euro-summer vacation and running with the bulls — not a good combo. I’m slowly getting back in the water now, so we thought this clip could almost be a celebration of that.

Most of the footage is from trips with Jules and Bosko just north of home (Avoca) around the Mid-North Coast. Jimmy did such a good job putting it all together. My only direction to him was that I wanted it to get kids out of the house and go surf. I remember being a grom and watching Scratching the Surface on repeat, in the dark, before the sun came up, getting so psyched to surf. I want this to have the same effect.

What’s next? Hopefully with my uni degree done, and my knee healing up, I want to put all my energy into getting back in the water and back in the jersey. The plan is to focus on the regionals for 2025, for a solid Challenger Series push in 2026 — And then hopefully meet Jules on tour in 2027….that’s the plan, anyways.”
