Katosa Aug Shrine is located in the northeast Akkala region, right beside East Akkala Stable on the road leading up toward the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. This shrine’s trial, “Katosa Aug Apparatus,” is a motion‑control mini-golf style puzzle where you guide metal hammers to knock an orb into a receptacle to open the path and claim a Spirit Orb.
Inside the Shrine:
• Upon entering, look to the right and examine the apparatus to start the first mini-golf puzzle, where you tilt the controller to swing a metal hammer and gently knock the orb toward the bowl switch ahead. Aim straight, use light taps instead of full swings so the ball does not overshoot and fall off the platform, and reset the puzzle if the orb stops in a bad spot.
• Once the orb drops into the receptacle, a moving platform activates; ride it across to the far side where the monk waits, but do not talk to him yet if you want the optional treasure.
• Walk around behind the monk and head down to a second apparatus room with a more complex course that includes banks and curves, requiring a medium-strength angled shot so the orb follows the wall and curls into the target.
• Use a comfortable neutral grip (often starting with the controller held flat) and adjust angle carefully; if the ball misses, reset and reposition the hammer before exiting so it does not accidentally knock the next orb away when the puzzle restarts.
Rewards and Chest:
• Solving the first apparatus opens the path to the altar, while solving the second hidden apparatus raises another moving platform that carries you to a treasure chest.
• Open the chest to receive a Great Frostblade, a powerful two-handed ice weapon that can freeze enemies and is a strong reward for completing the advanced mini-golf puzzle.
Finishing the Shrine:
• After grabbing the chest, ride the platform back and return to the main chamber, then approach Monk Katosa Aug at the altar to complete the trial.
• Speak with the monk to be rewarded with a Spirit Orb for solving the Katosa Aug Apparatus and clearing the shrine.
Tips for Success:
• Hold the controller in a stable, level position before activating each apparatus so the hammer starts from a consistent neutral angle.
• Use gentle or medium swings instead of maximum force, and prioritize accuracy of direction—aim slightly along the bank on the second puzzle so the ball rides the curve into the hole.
• Be patient and reset freely if the orb gets stuck; the shrine is designed as a precision motion challenge that rewards careful tilting more than aggressive swings.
This shrine offers a focused motion-control challenge that teaches fine gyro control while rewarding you with a Great Frostblade and a valuable Spirit Orb to strengthen your progress through Hyrule.
