Poet Omar Berrada and activist and anthropologist Iklil Bouhmouch present the work of Soumeya Ait Ahmed and Nadir Bouhmouch (Tizintizwa). "Against Monoculture and Mono-Culture"; a performative lecture that recounts how Morocco's Atlas mountains were transformed into apple monocultures, displacing diverse crops and traditional peasant practices.​ The narrative highlights the correlation between biodiversity and cultural diversity, noting how monocultures and cultural imperialism erode local traditions and ecosystems. ​

Tizintizwa is a Moroccan art-research collective that fosters collective creation and cross-pollination across disciplines. They collaborate with rural communities to document oral traditions and explore ecological transformations. Their work emphasizes the importance of transgenerational transmission, land relations, and the interplay between nature and culture, showcased at notable venues worldwide. Tizintizwa has shared their texts “Against Monoculture” and writings on oral poetry in the Summit Reader.
