Microscopic Oscillator Model Part 1 - The Polarisability of Dielectrics - Electromagnetism

Описание к видео Microscopic Oscillator Model Part 1 - The Polarisability of Dielectrics - Electromagnetism

In this video we model the polarisation response of a dielectric in response to an oscillatory electric field, using our infamous harmonic oscillator model, renowned by physicists the world over. This gives rise to a frequency dependence of the polarisability, from which we will discuss how this applies to various types of materials in the following part.
