UPDATE - June 3, 2020 - at the conclusion of the Cruiserweight tournament - Triple H handed Drake a new contract. Word is he took a pay cut to stay with the company. I still stand with the belief that this was not a work as we have begun seeing released names reappear on per-appearance agreements to save money.

On April 10, 2020 - the WWE released dozens of their staff - including one peculiar name who is still scheduled to work through the month of April into May.. this is causing fans to speculate - is the WWE working us by telling us Drake Maverick was released when it's really just a storyline? No, and here's why.

With that said - it could be that Drake Maverick is getting the furlough treatment, he's working to be released and brought back later in the year. That doesn't mean he wasn't released now though.
