Mortimer's Mannix Point, Cahersiveen, County Kerry, Ireland

A couple of months ago we were invited to join a few friends on their annual summer #camping trip... and though Danielle had doubts about going on holiday in Ireland where the weather is so hit and miss, we were delighted to accept the invite.

So, we recently made the rip down to County Kerry, in a place called #Cahersiveen close to Valentia Island on Ireland's west coast.

We camped at Mortimer's Mannix Point, a long established, highly regarded and perfect anchor point for excursions.

The weather continued to defy forecasts and the norm of Irish summers. Every day there had been warm and, despite one night of rain, it had been fabulous.

The light coastal breeze cooled the heat of the sun just enough to convince you that you weren't getting burnt... until it was too late.

The children loved it there though the late nights did take their toll on their daytime behaviour with little tantrums easily ignited over mundane things.

The hills and mountains in the area are amazing, the scenery astounding, the craic was mighty and we were so happy to be able to make these memories for our children.

Plans for returning in 2023 are already in play.
