Our Story:

Our day begins with an introduction and a detailed walkaround of our stay at Dharma Siddhi in Punakha. The serene ambiance and beautiful views make it a perfect place to stay. At the end of the segment, the owner of Dharma Siddhi shares insights about the stay and extends a warm invitation to future guests. I'm sharing details about this stay as a gesture of gratitude for the amazing service and hospitality we received.

After checking out, we head towards Paro, taking the route through Thimphu. We stop for lunch at Dodji and Om Restaurant and Hotel, the same place where we had our first dinner in Bhutan on Day 1.

Post-lunch, we continue our journey towards Paro and make a stop at the historic Iron Chain Bridge. This ancient bridge, built by the renowned Tibetan saint Thangtong Gyalpo in the 15th century, is a marvel of engineering and spirituality. Thangtong Gyalpo, also known as the Iron Bridge Builder, constructed several iron chain bridges across Bhutan and Tibet. The bridge is not only a vital crossing but also a significant pilgrimage site. Small clay pieces called Tsa-Tsas are placed here by Bhutanese people, which contain the ashes of their deceased loved ones or sacred prayers. This practice is a way to honor the dead and ensure their spiritual well-being.

Upon reaching Paro, we dive into the local market, exploring various shops and stalls. Chimi takes us to a local shop where we pick up some traditional items. As hunger strikes, Chimi guides us to a restaurant serving the local delicacy, Jhol Momo. These flavorful dumplings in a savory broth are a must-try.

We conclude our day by heading back to our stay in Paro, resting and preparing for the challenging hike to Tiger's Nest the next day.
