The elegant home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel M. Nickerson at 317 Erie Street set the stage for a charming wedding on December 6, 1893, uniting their niece, Nettie Beatrice Crosby, and Charles Howard Richardson of Boston. The house was beautifully adorned with palms, roses, and chrysanthemums, and an orchestra serenaded guests from the hall 🎶.

At 8 o’clock, the wedding party descended the staircase, passing through the library and drawing room to a temporary altar in the sitting room. Leading the procession were ushers A. A. Carpenter Jr., Hollis French, Warren Salisbury, Mr. Royce, Mr. Towne, and Benton Sturges, followed by bridesmaids Miss Brooks, Miss Pomeroy, Miss Peasley, and Miss Julia Day, with Miss Frances Cable as maid of honor. The bride, radiant in a white satin gown and lace veil gifted by Mrs. Nickerson, met the groom and his best man at the altar. Rev. Floyd W. Tomkins of St. James' Episcopal Church officiated.

The bridesmaids, dressed in pale green moire silk gowns with lace and ribbon details, carried bouquets and wore diamond-enamel pins from the bride. After the ceremony, an informal reception and supper followed. That evening, the couple departed for the East, with plans to settle in Brookline, Massachusetts.
