Video on how I replaced the harmonic balancer for my 1999 XJ. I had the squeaky belt and thought it was my belt or tension pulley. Before I could replace those I heard the cooling fan hitting something on the way to work. I bent the fan blades out of the way and was able to go to work. After some research I found that my harmonic balancer was coming apart. I was able to travel another 50 miles to the auto parts store and then home. Took the day off and did the job. Wanted to show how I removed the bolt and how I restricted the crank from moving. I was not comfortable with the starter bump method and did not want to remove the starter to jam the teeth. Tried something different.
