Last night i camped at Penzance YHA. The hostel was clean and kitchen. It was only £10 for a night camping. From the hostel i headed across farm land and houses estates to Madron. As i was entering Madron i came across Boscathnoe ancient Cross. I read that a farmer with stole it to use as a gatepost elsewhere. It was tracked down and the Bolitho estate made the farmer put it back. Had look around Madron. Then headed to Madron well and the baptistry there. Then i headed back to the road and walked past Boswarthen ancient Cross towards the right of way from hell. This right of way is the state some land owners possibly let grow like this to block our access. I have got streamers and a chainsaw which i have used to unblock rights of way from ignorant land owners or just lazy land owners. It is a good job most farmers land owners are fantastic and friendly hard working people who keep our rights of way clear for all the public to use good on them. Our job is to pick up any rubbish that lazy people have left on there land that way every ones happy. Lucky to escape this right away with out needing sugary. Next was on to the Ding Dong mines. Did some droning then was onto Mên-an-Tol where i did some time travelling. Then it was onto Morvah. I wild camped near Portheras Cove

Madron - An annual Trafalgar Service commemorating the death of Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson was started on 27 October 1946, following a local tradition that his death was first announced on British soil in the Union Hotel, Penzance.
Madron Well was, until the 18th century, the principal source of water for the nearby town of Penzance. Madron Well is an example of a Cornish Celtic sacred site, which is renowned for its healing properties. A May Day tradition, which was still being observed in 1879, was for many young folks (mainly girls) to head from Penzance before sunrise, to perform a ceremony, to learn the number of years they have to wait before they get married. Two grass stems or straw, each about an inch long were fastened together with a pin and dropped into the water. Any rising bubbles denote the number of years before they get married. The ceremony was no longer held on May Day. A tradition at this site persists to this day whereby people attach pieces of rag (clouties) to the nearby bushes as a symbol of appeasement to the spirits within the well site
Ding Dong mines - the name may refer to the 'head of the lode' or the outcrop of tin on the hill. in Madron church there is a 'Ding Dong Bell' that was rung to mark the end of the last shift of the miners. Ding Dong mine is likely one of the oldest mines in the United Kingdom. There is a legend that Joseph of Arimathea visited the area, and that he brought the young Jesus to address the miners, although there is no evidence to support this.
Mên-an-Tol - consists of three upright granite stones: a round stone with its middle holed out with two standing stones to each side, in front of and behind the hole. e distribution of the stones around the site has led to the suggestion that the monument is actually part of a stone circle. Mên-an-Tol is supposed to have a fairy or piskie guardian who can make miraculous cures.
Morvah - a hoard of gold ornaments was found dating from the late Bronze Age. The hoard of gold bracelets discovered here consisted of six large bracelets, three with distinctive trumpet-like ends. One also has engraved geometric designs on it. Morvah Fair (held on 1 August every year) which has been described as the biggest Lughnasadh celebrations outside Ireland. The fair was also associated with the legend of "Jack the Tinkard". In the late 19th century Morvah lead a successful campaign to ban the celebrations due to the excess of drunken and promiscuous behaviour.
