Following up sometime later, the researchers found that the workers who had said they had been bored were two-and-a-half times more likely than the non-bored workers to have died of heart problems.

Boredom will kill you. The good news is that there are cures for boredom. Worship is an effective antidote for boredom. We were made by God and our hearts are restless till they rest in him. Vital worship gets us out of ourselves.

Intentional service is also a powerful deliverer from boredom. Nothing gets us out of ourselves than giving some time in a regular way to serving others. Delivering food to needy folks through Meals on Wheels. Befriending and supporting a boy or girl through Big Brothers or Big Sisters.
