SWFL Eagles ~ M15 & F23 Perfect Shift Exchanges! M15 On Egg Duty At Night - NO Pip Seen! 12.27.23

It was another quiet day with M15 & F23 executing their perfect incubation shift exchanges throughout the day. Video begins with F23 on the veranda taking her first shift break and M15 coming in to take over incubation. He gets up to roll the eggs and we have a nice view of the eggs. A few hours later F23 comes for the 2nd shift change and we have more zooming on the eggs. M15 is seen at the pond taking a sip of water, he will fly back and be on egg duty for the night - F23 will be roosting elsewhere for the time being. M15 gets up to roll the eggs and our cam ops zoom in on the eggs. A small indentation is seen on the egg that probably was there since the time it was laid and is not a pip. It is going inward - the wrong direction. A pip comes from the inside outward and forms a starburst as the eaglet breaks the eggshell with its egg tooth. It is too early for a pip. Before we even see the external pip of a crack in the eggshell an internal pip takes place with the chick piercing the membrane and that takes a couple three days. We will be watching for any signs of a pip to occur in the next few days! Thank you for watching!
