In Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah raised concerns about the Special Identification Register (SIR) in Bihar. He said it’s unclear if the SIR will benefit those implementing it. He suggested waiting until the Bihar elections are over to see if the SIR is truly helpful before considering it for other parts of India. Since Bihar’s election results are not out yet, he urged the Election Commission not to rush, as doing so might make it seem like they’re acting under pressure from a political party and losing their independence.
