A longtime jewelry store owner is now sharing his account of the deadly shooting at a Stockton flea market that left two men dead and a woman injured. Salvador Cervantes says multiple people attempted to rob his family’s booth Sunday and opened fire, prompting his son to return fire in what Cervantes believes saved their lives. Police have not confirmed whether the shooting was self-defense or robbery-related and say no arrests have been made. Stockton’s vice mayor says preliminary information suggests the business owners acted in self-defense. Authorities continue to classify the case as a homicide and say the incident appears isolated.
