Take off from the USS Stennis and fly at a low altitude of 500ft until waypoint 2. Then en route to waypoint 3, climb to an altitude of 20,000ft and engage any enemy aircraft in the area whilst the other flight groups complete their own objectives. Push on to the north (waypoint 4) if needed.

I don't even know where to start with this mission. As the in-game replay feature never works, I have to record all my DCS videos in real-time. This was the 15th or 16th attempt! In one attempt, I destroyed four enemy aircraft only to crash upon landing on the carrier as I was too low.

In the end, this attempt was my next best shot since then and I decided to call it a day as I'd had enough and simply wanted to progress to the next mission. I only managed to destroy one bogey and when I got the 'mission complete' notification, I skipped heading to waypoint 4 to engage the next group of MiG's and instead headed straight back to base. Then for some bizarre reason, my entire flight group decided to reenact 'Flight 19'. They all ran out of fuel and ditched into the sea en-route to the carrier! Also, as I had a couple of missiles left under my right wing, the plane was constantly tilting to the right. Trying to 'trim it out' had no effect whatsoever and so I had to manually fight it in order to maintain level flight all the way back to the carrier. I then missed the cables at first attempt and had to do a 'go around'. My second attempt was impatient and messy as you can see from the approach angle the fact I was doing a whopping 215 kt at wheels down!
