Handheld XRF Analyzer Demonstration (XMet8000 for Alloy Verification)

An associate of Eastern Applied Research (www.easternapplied.com) gives a brief overview of the XMet8000 Handheld XRF series from Hitachi High-Tech (formerly Oxford Instruments). The overview includes general software flow, test measurement, and report generation. The Xmet8000 is primarily used for positive material identification (PMI, alloy testing) and RoHS screening.

Portable x-ray fluorescence has evolved quickly over the last decade. The newest analyzers, like the XMet8000, offer excellent precision and data management capabilities. In this video, the operator shows the reporting capabilities which can include user/organization information, full spectrums, sample images, and data for each element seen in a measurement.
