Hi! I’m Flora and you are watching the first episode of VRHopes TV, what I hope will become your place of choice to get to know the great leaders in the VR industry.

Today, we are gonna talk about AltspaceVR, a fabulous social and communications platform that allows you to hang out with people in virtual reality.

AltspaceVR offers beautiful rooms and landscapes where you can go and meet people. You will most likely meet strangers, but you can also invite your friends and family! While you are there, there is a ton of activities you can do together, such as playing chess, watching YouTube videos and Netflix movies, or participate in one of their events. They host comedy nights, open mics, game competitions and so much more.

My guest today is the Bruce Wooden, Head of Developer & Community Relations at AltspaceVR. Better known by his alias Cymatic Bruce, he has been dubbed a VR evangelist and an influencer in the VR developer community.

Bruce and I met earlier this week in AltspaceVR to have this interview in virtual reality.

1. Before we delve more into Altspace VR, Bruce, I want to know more about your journey. You have a long-standing passion for virtual reality and I am curious to know how it all got started.

2. Now, my first question to you is why a social and communications app? Virtual reality is still a video game dominated industry. Where did the idea of AltspaceVR come from?

3. Now, let's talk about AltspaceVR. Can you tell us more about it?

4. For people who have never tried AltspaceVR, how would you suggest that they get started?

5. The technology is becoming better and better at tracking body language, such as head and hand movement. It really feels like you are next to me having this chat! Tell us more about the body tracking system in AltspaceVR.

6. If people wold like to make suggestions of activities they would like to do in AltspaceVR, is there a place they can do so?

7. Now, let's talk about you newly released app, Call VR. Whereas AltspaceVR is providing public spaces for people to interact, Call VR is for people to have private conversations. Can you tell us more about it?
