Love the group feel on this recording of Gilbert Castellanos's composition, "Theme for Marina." It's reminiscent of some of my favorite 60s Blue Note latin jazz tracks. This session features Gilbert Gilbert C Castellanos, Jason Shattil, Julian Esparza, Tyler Kreutel, and me.

I've been collecting clones of famous vintage microphones, aiming for a Rudy Van Gelder/Alfred Lions 60s Blue Note sound. Along with playing with such great musicians, I've had the luxury of working all year with an amazing recording engineer, Chris Hobson. Chris and I mixed this one; Chris mastered it. How did we do?
