Ischemic Stroke
Ischemic Stroke, the most common type of stroke, occurs when the blood flow to a part of the brain is disrupted.
This causes brain cells to deprive of blood and die.
The brain receives blood via two major pairs of arteries which branch throughout brain tissue
These arteries supply the brain cells with oxygen, glucose, and nutrients vital for their functions.

Causes
Atherosclerosis, that narrows the arteries and reduces blood flow to the brain
A blood clot that forms in another part of the body.
A piece of plaque that clogs the arteries, break loose into the bloodstream, and forms a blood clot

Types
Thrombotic Stroke:
This results from a blood clot, or thrombus that forms inside an artery supplying blood to the brain.
Embolic Stroke:
This occurs when a blood clot or embolus travels from anywhere in the body to the brain and blocks a blood vessel.

Symptoms
The symptoms happen suddenly and may include:
Numbness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
Confusion
Trouble speaking
Trouble seeing in one or both eyes
Loss of balance
Dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
Severe headache with no known cause
