Walking crab | STEM activity

Crabs live in all the world's oceans, in freshwater, and on land, are generally covered with a thick exoskeleton, and have a single pair of pincers.

The Christmas Island red crab is a species of land crab that is endemic to Christmas Island and Cocos Islands in the Indian Ocean. Millions of crabs become rivers of red as they move from Christmas Island's interior rainforests to the ocean to breed and lay eggs.

These large crabs are active during the day but prefer to stay in the shade and can die in the moisture-robbing heat of direct sunlight.

In our today’s craft, we also learnt about the elasticity of certain objects. A rubber band in this case. We also learnt that the force with which you pull the rope makes the crab go slower or faster.
