Dialog

Dave: So, Robin, what’s your new roommate like?
Robin: Well, if you have the time, I’ll describe him for you. He’s quite the character.
Dave: I don’t have much time, dude--but basically—do you get along with him?
Robin: Well, actually, yes--but that’s only because we hardly ever see each other. He plays games or sleeps all day. Sometimes he gets out of his room, just to go to his classes, and then he comes back and goes to his room. Then he’ll get up at midnight and study all night.
Dave: Really? You don’t eat together or hang out, then?
Robin: The truth is, I don’t even know if he eats.
Dave: Then at least he doesn’t leave a mess in the kitchen.
Robin: No! He is incredibly neat. He actually leaves the bathroom clean--and he doesn’t seem to have dirty clothes. He’s like a ghost.
Dave: Man, it sounds like you have the perfect roommate!
Robin: What about yours? What’s he like?
Dave: Well, he’s like the opposite of yours. We’re a lot alike, and we’re together a lot. We have two classes together and we’re in the same fraternity, so we’re really great friends.
Robin: Sounds to me like you have the perfect roommate!
Dave: Well, Mmmm yes--and no. He’s like a tornado in the house. In the first place, he always leaves a big mess in the kitchen; he never washes. Plus, he leaves all his clothes all over the place. Not to mention how he leaves the bathroom…
Robin: Come on, Dave--he sounds a lot like you. No wonder you get along so well!
