Ep4: Breaking Ground & Excavating A Ha-Ha!

A historic moment in the project—after a long time coming—the BIR team is finally permitted to break ground and begin excavations. While all three buildings are still having their structural designs refined and finalised, Oli focuses the initial groundworks on the excavation of a ‘Ha-Ha’ retention swale in the southeast corner of the site.

This multi-purpose artificial waterway is not just a feature but a key component that will enhance the site's biodiversity and serve a vital role in the yet-to-be-installed rain-water harvesting drainage system, ensuring efficient water retention.

Join us for the highs and lows of the first fortnight of these excavations. With one of the wettest months ever on record, things are guaranteed to be slippery when wet!
