Tripp and I took advantage of the beautiful weather we had just ahead of Christmas and cleaned the chicken coop. We were going to include it as part of that week's regular video, but decided it made a good short on its own.

Our coop is small and has a wood floor that we bed with wood chips. We use cedar. I've read that cedar can have ill effects on chickens, especially if they're not cured properly.

We get all of our from the local lumber yard. The owner makes the most beautiful cedar boxes and furniture. He harvests most all his own cedar, so I know it's dry. And our hens seem to get along great with it. It also makes the hen house smell amazing!
