Let me take you on a tour of Alton Skatepark in Hampshire. It's a plaza style skatepark which looks like a street skater's dream. Built by Maverick in February 2020.

This park has a back and forth style bookended with quarter pipes. On the far end of the park you have a raised area with a kinked square rail alongside a kicker/euro gap. That takes you down to a curved ledge, a manual pad, a park bench and an angled rail. Through the center of the park you have a long grind curb, a quarter hip, A-frame with a round rail, a double flatbank with a hip. On the closest end of the park you have 360 rollovers and a 5 foot quarter pipe with extension. Off to the side you have a 5 foot mini ramp.

Transport

Train/Bus
You can get the train to Alton Train station and either walk South West for 1.7 miles or you can get the 38 - Petersfield - Alton bus from the train station. Make sure you get off at the newly built leisure center (Playing Fields) because there are no more stops within the Alton area.

Car
Parking is really simple. There is a car park right next to the skatepark. Plenty of space to park and there is a larger car park next to the leisure center if it happens to be full.

Jane Austen’s House
Just a 15 minute walk is Jane Austen’s House in Chawton Village. Currently they’re still asking for bookings for tickets so make sure you plan ahead.

Further into Alton is the high street and Public Gardens. It’s just a 20 minute walk or a 4 minute drive from the skatepark. It looks like a nice place to look around.
