4 exercises to wake up your core post-cesarean. Even 20+ years later.

It is very common post-cesarean birth to struggle to feel the lower core engage, to feel very numb around the incision and to have low back pain and pelvic floor issues.

There is a false equivalency that you “spare the vagina” when you have a c-section.

Most definitely false. Considering that your pelvic floor is part of the core system, it would only make sense that a major abdominal surgery would also affect the pelvic floor.

This collection of exercises is a great way to begin working your core during your c-section recovery.

Definitely wait until you have medical clearance and even then, know that most people need even more time to heal than the medical clearance.

I designed this to move your core multi-directionally. One directional work is inferior, considering we move 3D.

One thing that I did not include is c-section scar tissue work, which is a crucial part of healing. It can be done pretty soon after your surgery or even decades later.

For these exercises, it’s important to coordinate the movements with your breathing.

Do not bulge your core outward as it engages, and if it is happening, please regress the movement.

Do each move 8 to 10 times.
