Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF): Outcomes (5 of 5)

Описание к видео Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF): Outcomes (5 of 5)

Surgery to repair tetralogy of Fallot helps recreate a heart that is relatively close to normal. The vast majority of children who undergo repair for tetralogy of Fallot have excellent results and go on to lead a normal life. However, for some, leakage of the pulmonary valve may occur and surgery later in life may be necessary to place an artificial valve. Some patients might have residual narrowing even after surgery, and others are at higher risk for rhythm problems.
