This true-crime documentary compilation explores three of China’s most disturbing serial killer cases — Yang Xinhai, Cheng Peng, and Duan Guocheng.

Yang Xinhai, known as “The Monster Killer”, is the most prolific serial killer in modern Chinese history, responsible for 67 confirmed murders and dozens more suspected.

Cheng Peng, “The Ningxia Butcher”, raised wolf-dogs on a government compound (including one who became a movie star), who he fed his victims to, in a case as bizarre as it is horrifying.

And Duan Guocheng, the “Red Dress Killer”, terrorised Yueyang and Wuhan in the late 1990s and early 2000s in one of China’s most disturbing but least known true-crime cases.

Together, these cases reveal a side of China rarely seen — a dark intersection of secrecy, brutality, and hidden horror.
