Kiss frontman Gene Simmons expresses appreciation for his late mother Flora Klein as he reveals how she survived a Nazi concentration camp.

Simmons' mother survived the concentration camps as a 12-year-old girl using her hairdressing skills and by keeping her ability to speak German a secret.

The rockstar praised his mother for being his rock and “moral compass” throughout his life.

“My mother lived to be 94 years of age and always told me, ‘everyday above ground is a good day’, and I take that with me wherever I go,” he told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
