Consumers Today is yet another name for a company that phones you with a "questionnaire" that takes ages to answer. How long can The Major go without answering a single question posed by "Jeffrey"? Consumers Today plans to sell my details to other companies who will then make unwanted sales calls to me. While not a scam, its calls are unsolicited and unwanted, and whatever company is hiding behind this made-up name ignores the Telephone Preference Service.

Cold-calling company: Consumers Today (does not appear in an Internet search, so probably a made up name)

Phone number: 0008001389084 which might be written 000800 1389084 or 00 0800 1389084; this will probably change frequently as the company is blacklisted

Cold-caller: "Jeffrey". What is it with J-names? The previous "Tech Helpline" callers were John Smith and Justin. It could be spelt Geoffrey, I suppose.

In the call, Jeffrey rushes over the part where he has to obtain my consent for his company to use my details. This is very poor business practice. Jeffrey also makes the bizarre claim that answering marketing questions will reduce the number of cold calls I receive, because I will only be contacted by companies whose products interest me. This could only be the case if Jeffrey's company was the sole controller of cold calls in the entire world. As there are so many of these nuisance callers, scammers and other parasites who will phone me anyway, Jeffrey's assurances are totally hollow.

Despite being thwarted by The Major on this occasion, the company continues to phone me but I keep missing its calls.
