These are the only countries where same-sex marriage is legal. Let's begin in Africa as there is only one country where you can marry a person of the same sex. That country is South Africa. Moving to America the situation gets significantly better. In south the list includes chile, argentina, uruguay, brasil, equador, colombia and french gijana. Moving north we further include Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, the USA, and Canada. Travelling across the map we add Australia and New Zealand. In Asia there are only two such countries. Taiwan and Nepal which changes the law only recently. And finally Europe which is split into two halves. Same-sex marriage is legal in most of western and northern Europe. While in the east and south of the continent, it still remains illegal. So these are all 36 countries on one map.
