A Weekend In Northern Italy | Prosecco Road | Pordenone | Aviano |

THURSDAY
Mary + her Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Gunnar, took the 1 hour train from Sacile to Venice to meet up with the Greenes. The Greenes are our friends who live in Minnesota that we met when our husbands all worked together. This military life is so unique and the friendships are so special because of that.
We stayed in Sacile for the first day showing our friends around the Mallory’s town. We had lunch at PizziWine (not pictured because we were too busy catching up)

1:38 Spritz- Weiss bar - The gals tried the pink drink which is a spritz with Grapefruit and it did not disappoint following drinks we had dinner at La Piola and gelato at Il Gelatone.


FRIDAY
The Mallorys + Sydney took the Greenes to Prosecco Road to try some of the best bubbles.

1:45 Nani Rizzi- Cute, modern, updated winery in Guia. We all really enjoyed the wine but recommend eating before as they do not serve food.

2:57 Trattoria Alla Cerva- Recommended by a fellow military spouse friend (Diana) the restaurant and the view did not disappoint. It was the perfect stop between winery hopping.

3:36 Prosecco Vending Machine- This is a favorite to bring friends to because it’s so unique and has the best views. There is a cute little Osteria at the base and another winery (Col Vetoraz)

4:27 Pizzeria @more- The gals and Jon had dinner near the river in Sacile at a local pizza spot.

4:37 Gelateria Dolci Voglie- Everyone’s favorite gelato shop. We are big fans of the fior di latte and spiruli.


SATURDAY
4:46 Polcenigo-The Smidt’s showed the Greene’s their cute town.

4:50 Zaia- We had to have lunch at our favorite restaurant and were pleasantly surprised with the delicious truffle ravioli.

5:14 La Gelateria In Borc- Our days aren’t complete without gelato so we stopped to cool off after lunch.

5:32 Grape Stomp at Fossa Mala- Our friends picked a great weekend to visit because the annual grape stomp happened during their visit. We picked grapes, stomped, and had dinner with the squadron.

7:35 Do you prefer cake or pie? Apparently this is a controversial question.


SUNDAY
7:53 Parco Villa Varda- Perfect place to walk near Polcenigo that has a lot of different animals including horses, cows, peacocks, pigs, and donkeys.

8:02 Taverna Della Lana- Very cute spot in Parco Villa Varda that is great for coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night. We haven’t tried out dinner here yet, but have heard great things.

8:10 We finished the trip with spritz & dinner at the Mallory’s
