Well living in New Zealand the land of Hobbits, it was about time I carved a Smaug inspired Dragons Eye. This Carving was from the Wood - Rimu - a New Zealand wood that was used a lot in housing before treated timbers took over here. Its quite a strange wood to carve it is quite strong but is sometimes brittle as well, fast moving burrs tend to leave burn marks as well. Really happy with how this turned out.
