This is a folk song from Qinghai. It describes the journey of soldiers, being press-ganged into service by the Ma Clique.

NOTE: THIS SONG LYRICS DO NOT EXACTLY MATCH THE SONG. THE SONG EXTENSIVELY USES LILTING (thats what I call it but frankly I have no idea what to call it in English) AND GIBBERISH IN THE MIDDLE OF LINES. THINK "Yiyayiziyo'er" IN RED SUN IN THE SKY OR "Hu'erhaiya" IN THE EAST IS RED. THIS IS ALSO WHAT THE UNCAPTIONED SEGMENTS MEAN, HENCE THE BRACKETS.
