The pattern starts from front upper chest to lower bust

Upper Front Chest Width: Chain 44 (9 inches) for XS and S, add 6 more stitches for bigger size.

If you are XS or Small size and the 44 chains are too short for the width of your front upper chest add more stitches (make sure that your foundation chains are divisible/multiple by 6 + 2) .
