Which Planeswalkers Can Read? | Magic: the Gathering

I have long been interested by the question of Planeswalker literacy. The global literacy rate did not surpass 50% until the mid-20th century, and most planes in #magicthegathering are based on a pre-20th century society. With that in mind, I once hypothesized that most Planeswalkers probably couldn’t read. It’s time that I finally investigate this matter in-depth. I have assembled a list of every #mtg character with a Planeswalker card. I will go through every one of them and place them on the literacy tier list. For some, we have canonical evidence of their beyond functional literacy. Otherwise, I have made my best guess based on their culture of origin and character details.
