Описание к видео Self-Advocacy and Postsecondary Accessibility Services | Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth

Join CTY’s Student Support Unit for the next webinar of our series focused on well-being and youth development.

Self-advocacy is crucial for students to feel confident, create independence, and succeed in school. It can empower them to find solutions to problems that others might not be aware of. Join us to learn about the differences in K-12 and post-secondary laws, FERPA, documentation, self-advocacy, self-disclosure, what is meant by “reasonable accommodations” in college and more. If you are a high school student with an IEP, 504 or Education Support Plan, this presentation is for you.

Michelle Clarke, M.A. has spent her career serving students with disabilities and advocating for equal access to education for all students regardless of their physical or learning differences. She is currently an Assistant Director in the Student Disabilities Services office at Johns Hopkins University.
