Описание к видео Traditional KUWAITI FOOD - Jareesh, Kabout, Tashreeb & Arabic Coffee | Aswaq al Qurain, Kuwait

My whirlwind first day in Kuwait continued with some delicious Kuwaiti food at Aswaq al Qurain. Come along with me and my boy Yousef as I try Kuwaiti food for the first time and explore more of this beautiful and underrated country!

Local Tour Kuwait: http://localtourkuwait.com/

We began my latest adventure at a restaurant in Asqaq al Qurain. I started with some Arabic coffee, which was very different from black coffee. It was creamy, clear, and yellowish but didn’t contain any milk at all.

Next, I had a crunchy, sweet dough ball followed by jareesh, a porridge-like mixture usually made of wheat and meat. It was thick, creamy and almost like minced lamb and lentils. The Iranian bread made it even better!

Next, I had more fatty mutton with peppers and carrots. It came in a creamy sauce and was so fatty and yummy! The red peppers gave it a nice kick! The fatty gravy was so delicious, like heaven in my mouth!

Then, I went for the mutton ribs with potatoes and carrots. I broke off some more bread and dug into the meat with it. The dish was like layers of dough with a creamy gravy-like sauce. The fatty, rich meat just slid right off the bone! I was in lamb heaven!

Then I went straight in with my hands with the bread. These dishes were blowing my mind! I couldn’t get enough of them and kept going back for more!

Finally, I went with some of the yogurt-like milk with mint to cool my mouth down from the heat! One of my favorite things about this place is that there was free and unlimited Arabic coffee! They serve it to you hot, but it’s too good!

From there, we left the restaurant. There were lots of restaurants and retail on the bottom level of the nearby buildings. Kuwait is a dry state, so there is no alcohol. They make up for it with lots of shisha, though!

We headed to Viking Café, a shisha bar in the area. The shisha bar was separated into plush rooms where you take off your shoes and can kick back and lounge on couches. You can even watch TV while you enjoy your shisha!

My shisha was really nice and tasty! When you come in, they ask what flavor you want, and they bring it to you along with enough tips for everyone to use. While I was there, I ran into a fan from Goa, India!

Back outside, the humidity and heat hit me right in the face! Then, we headed to the Avenues Mall, one of the biggest malls in the world! Along the way, we passed a Kuwaiti army base where they do lots of training exercises. The mall is huge and has a traditional souq and an area called Prestige, where all of the luxury brands like Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Gucci are located. The parking lot is also huge!

I’m not usually big on malls, but this place is something you have to see in Kuwait. I’d never been to a mall like this one! The Prestige area is so luxurious and swanky, with super high ceilings and incredible lights on the ceilings. If you’re shopping there, you definitely have some money!

The actual avenue is covered by glass, so the sun shines through during the day. It’s air-conditioned and looks like a European city! We passed a Lexus showroom and headed to the Souq. We saw so many shops and cafes, but we only really saw 3% of the entire mall!

Afterward, we headed to my Airbnb back in Kuwait City! I chose Kuwait City because it’s centrally located and I didn’t want to be too far from everything. My one-bedroom Airbnb had everything I needed, including a queen-sized bed, a couch, a TV, a small and cute bathroom, a washer/dryer, and an awesome kitchen.

I hope you enjoyed coming with me to have traditional Kuwaiti food in Aswaq al Qurain, Kuwait! If you did, please give this video a thumbs up and leave me a comment below.
