Galenstock (3586 m) Difficult Climb via South East Ridge - Mountaineering Switzerland

Ascent of the Galenstock in the Uri Alps on 13th August 2023 with the Swiss Alpine Club section SAC Mythen. We started our ascent just around sunrise from Furkablick along the Furkapass street. We chose an interesting and combined high alpine route up this mountain, taking us to the South East Ridge via the Obere Bielenlücke. The climb is classified as difficult (D), involving technical rock climbing and ascending glaciers. We encountered ideal conditions for the climb, perfectly dry rock and sunny weather. This was a one-day push from the Furkapass and back without an overnight stay at a mountain hut.
