The EU Rights and Brexit Hub (EURBH) is a nationwide, legal action research hub led by Professor Charlotte O’Brien, University of York Law School. The hub is investigating how Brexit affects the social rights of EU/EEA nationals and their family member in the UK, and translating that research into expert guidance and advocacy for organisations and legal teams supporting them.

The hub set up a specialist advice clinic for the charitable organisations, local councils and legal teams supporting EU nationals across the UK. Professor O’Brien and the EURBH team played an active role in shaping the legal rights held by more than 6 million people in the UK.

Professor Charlotte O’Brien is shortlisted for the ESRC Celebrating Impact Prize 2024. The Prize, now in its 12th year, is an opportunity to recognise the success of ESRC-funded researchers in achieving and enabling outstanding economic or societal impact from their research.
