A HP LaserJet 1320 does not pull the sheet from tray 1 (manual feed).
The problem here is a sticky dampening pad on the solenoid SL2.
The SL2 can be reached without disassembling the whole printer, if someone is clever.

Compare the time between tightening and dropping the pawl in defective and working condition with your printer. This may tell you if your printer has the same problem.
